Fun with captions.

Some of my favorites:

"Gonna have to dig a bigger hole under the bus to fit everyone I know under there."

.."this better go over well...if I have to bowl again I'll be back up to two packs a day"

Hopefully at least the political attn helps raise awareness to a Federal actionable level.

"Eh, suppose he's ok, or something, but kinda hard to believe this claim of 'change' - Seems the standard photo-op to me, whole bunch of people fly in, take pictures, blab a bit, then fly on, while me and the kid are here filling sandbags. If all them photographers and reporters filled a bag each, it'd maybe be worth it."

Photo Op, Schmoto Op. If it gets help to those people I'm all for it. At least he's not ignoring them like some of our public servants do during a crisis.

Like I said... Bush will be there in about 2 weeks.
Have you seen the photos of Cedar Rapids? Holy shit downtown looks completely ruined!

This administration can feel proud that half of the retail spaces downtown were already empty (he can spin it as a pre-evacuation).

Ok, but let's call it what it is. (The "Spade/spade" line doesn't seem appropriate here.) Whether kissing babies or feebly shoveling shit into a bag, the motives are the same. I'm certainly not going to blame a career politician for being good at the game. I'm no playa hater.

Guess I can't help but be hyper- critical of elected officials (ALL members of Congress included), in a position to initiate bold solutions, but choosing personal ambitions, safe party lines and selfish pandering instead. (But what sane politician goes out- on- a- limb during campaign season?!?!) I could name a bunch on both sides of the aisle, NONE of whom achieved their party's nomination for prez.

You can learn a lot about an approaching storm, just by observing the direction of the blowing wind. I find it interesting that much of the Obama praise is really angled AWAY from his person & directed more as a ding against his direct or indirect opposition. People make valid arguments in different ways, but I've never been so sensitive to such slight- of- hand endorsements for other candidates. I know bashing/contrasting the opposition is part of the dusty old "change" or "reform" platform bit, but for whatever misguided delusional reason, I expected more than just nifty packaging out of the Dems this go- round. ESPECIALLY at such a pivotal moment in America's short history.

I looked to the Dems, and I love the thought of a lesser eville anti- Bush solution. I'm just not IN love with Obama, the man. No, didn't really mean to end up there. I like men.
