Countdown writing is the most amusing point- of- view on TV. Sadly, Olbermann's charm seems increasingly gruff these days next to the refreshingly Liberal Maddow and even compared to the jaded bipolar Matthews-- who both appear just as left- hell- bent, but routinely book opposing points of view on their shows.

A good argument, balanced or not, will ALWAYS make for better TV than a thoughtful one- sided lecture.

Like most of SNL sketch comedy it was too long and just a bit too much. I think the only two things I have seen on their show that over-the-top really worked was the sketch for seasonale and Tina Fey's Palin impersonations.

I relate to Olbermanns sense of outrage, and sometimes find Rachel Maddow's delivery a bit too light. Tweety is just nice to make fun of. He goes wherever the winds and the money blow him.

I've been trying to watch Olbermann and Maddow but both of them begin to grate on me. That SNL scene is true to Olbermann in that sometimes he needs to stop ranting and raving and make a point. (of course, anyone who has read any of my posts knows i do the same only in written word). and yeah, i do identify with Olbermann's outrage but I think he needs a little more restraint, because most of the time he comes across a raving lunatic. And Maddow, I dunno, she's okay but still a bit smart ass. I guess I'd like to leave the smart ass stuff to John Stewart and Stephen Colbert.

I think it's sort of sad as what passes for a news program. They are both so left wing it makes me a little nauseas. Why do these programs have to be so skewed either to the right or left?

I wish we had more reporting like the Jim Lehrer News Hour. Now that is a news program. Or even shows like Charlie Rose. Bill Moyers aint' bad either. He is left, but at least doesn't feel the need to be over the top with the dramatics.

So what's your point? Women shouldn't be smart asses?

PS Olberman isn't a reporter or a journalist, nor is it a news program. It is an entertainment program that that pretends to be a news program... just like everything on Fox News.

That's Entertainment!

yep, them programs are more about entertainment than substance.

reporting something that is barely news worthy with that smirky grin.

I do love Jim Lehrer. And everyone on that show.

Queen Latifah did make a great Gwen Ifil. And the Olberman thing was the best thing Ben Affleck has ever done in his life.
