The two best shows I've seen in 10 years (or longer) were Deadwood and The Wire. I am not a big fan of TV in general and rarely schedule anything around programming but these two programs were must see TV for me.

I just tore through the first season of Deadwood when I got the DVDs. The brutality of the language and the fantastic acting (it must have been an absolute ball to be an actor in that show!) was so refreshing from the watered down network crap. I was hooked ever since then... and very sad they killed it after the third season.
